Vitamin D interacts with Esr1 and Igf1 to regulate molecular pathways relevant to Alzheimer’s disease

A study by Véréna Landel, Pascal Millet, Kévin Baranger, Béatrice Loriod and François Féron in 2016 looks at Vitamin D interaction in regulating molecular pathways. It refers to Vitamin D as a neurosteroid ,which i haven’t seen before. It concludes that the classical and non-classical actions of vitamin D3 can act in an additive and possibly synergistic manner to induce neuroprotective activities in a context-specific way. Neuroprotective activities are shown to reduce chances of Dementia and Alzheimers.you can read the report here :-Link to article
